Question Front tires cupping - under warranty?

Hello,

the inside of my front tires have this feathered wear. It is a bit uneven on the inside. I suspected it was my driving habits and were considered normal. After reading several other threads, people have mentioned it was bad alignment. I had the car professionally aligned and the measurements look to be on spec.

Is this a defective tire? Is it covered under warranty? The same wear pattern is found on both front tires.

Thank you,

If alignment is in spec, then there is only one cause - not rotating the tires as needed... they should be rotated every 5-8,000 miles, religiously... that type of heel toe wear is very common for tires that have not been rotated often, or not at all...

edit: it is not a defective tire, and tire manufacturers do not cover uneven wear, as a tire will not wear unevenly by itself - it has to have some outside force to wear unevenly...

If it happens over and over again even if your alignment is in spec, it means your caster arm bushings are done. When this bushing goes bad your toe will change all the time no matter how many times you align the car. This probably leads to cupping and irregular tire wear.
