Default Can you put 245/45/18 tires on a 245/40/18 rim?

I am interested in getting some dedicated all season tires such as the Michelin Primacy MXV4 (top 1 rated on tirerack for grand touring a/s) but it comes in 24/45/18 and I have the 245/40/18 inch GS optional rims? Will these tires be ok? Any expert opinion in terms of the ride, speedometer, etc.??

It will be fine. It will only make your speedo read slightly slower than your actual speed.

Yes, but it will be about 0.5" taller, giving you more sidewall and increased comfort
That's actually oem size for the LS430.

Go to 1010tires.com and it can do the comparisons for you.
