Default how many turns, rotation, of lug nuts are considered safe?

to put wheels on. is 5 or 6 turns hand tightened considered safe? thx.

The easier way to figure it out is that is needs to engage 1.5 times the stud diameter...

You are not just leaving them hand tight, are you? They really need to be torqued down to around 75 pounds of torque with a wrench.

he's talking about how many is considered safe engagement... in case of using spacers, etc...

thx, so considering toyota (lexus) is 12 x 15mm, engaging 22.5mm is acceptable? shop recommends getting longer studs, i get 5 or 6 turns hand tightened..

donno, i have a set of mcgard lug nuts, and it says hand tight only..

donno, i have a set of mcgard lug nuts, and it says hand tight only..
hand tight, or, really, hand tight with a lug nut wrench... no impact tho...
