17" or 18"s on '02 ES?
Hi,
I'm debating about getting 17" or 18" rims on my '02 ES. I'm concerned about how large is too large before rubbing (w/ or w/o people in the back). I've read a few places that I should try and get a +45 offset. I've been thinking about the OZ Antares, but it has a +33 offset (if I remember right), is that okay?

I think I'm going w/ a 225, but the 17" has to be a 55 series (which I don't think will look as nice, but I'm guessing the ride will be better). The 18" will be a 45 series. What's funny is the 18" has a closer diameter (25.97) vs. 26.74 for the 17". The stock 16" is 26.16. I guess even a 235/50/17 would be okay at 26.25.
I also have the AVS option & when you put that thing to sport, you feel everything, every single little bump. But if you don't put it closer to sport than soft you get too much body roll.
Do you guys think the 45 series will just make that a lot worse? I've been told that tires these days are built much better & I'd only notice a little diff between a 60 and 45, what do you think?
Sorry for the long winded question.
Thanks.

those '02 ES300s are huge. My dad got one and if i was hooking up his car i would put on some 20's, lower it, and get a front lip spoiler.
the '02 HIDs are beautiful though.

So if I believe the OZ website application guide, it says an Antares will work, but I'm skeptical, which is why I'm asking you guys. Also, the '02 ES seems to be a bigger well than the pre-02 cars, especially since the stock wheels are 215/60/16.
What do you think of the rim? Does it match an ES?
