Default tire profiles for 18" rims

I have a 93 sc with stance coilovers and 18" rays at the moment I have 245/45/18 rears and 225/40/18 fronts. Is this a good size to stick with? or should I go with something else? I notice a lot of people run a lower profile tire in the rear than in the front where as I have the opposite. why is that? oh my wheels are 18x10 +26 in the rear I dont see a tag on either of the front wheels so im unsure of the offset / width but they run flush with a 1" spacer behind them.

im running 255/35/18 in front and 295/30/18 rear..If I had 45 series tires then I would not be able to turn, my front still rubs a little now....From what I was told by a guy who worked at a wheel shop that gives the appearance that the stance of the car is even..or something simialr to that???

I run 245/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 in the back. That keeps the overall tire diameter almost identical to stock and thus the speedometer isn't effected as much. It's still a tiny bit off, but not enough to matter or for me to do anything about it.

Keep in mind that a ratio of 45 is not the same on every tire. It's a ratio or percentage of the width of the tire. For example, my tires:

245/40/18: 25.716" tall
275/35/18: 25.579" tall

A LOT of people seem to think that if its a 40 or 45 series tires, then that is the same no matter what width or diamter tire it is. It's a common mistake that a lot of people make. Not to say that anyone here is assuming that, but if someone by chance should read this, hopefully they won't assume that

Just use something like this - really easy. It even tells you how far off your speedo will be if you change it up.

TJohnson, I am thinking of the similar setup FR 245/45-18 & BK 275/35-18. Did you mod the fendors? Any rubbing?

With the wheels and offsets I've got, I did have to roll the fenders. They scraped VERY slightly on the rear on a good bump. A friend of mine has the Eastwood roller, so we spent a few hours and did just the rears. The fronts don't rub at all, so I didn't modify those at all. I haven't had one rub or scrape issue since rolling the rears.
