Funny thing about that, I've seen just the opposite, 5 years at Discount Tire and 5 at Firestone / Expert Tire...

The one thing I figured out when I worked for DTC, was that directional tires can be a bear to get even wear with on higher performance cars... Its a function of aggressive camber/toe settings and the directional tire, not the tire itself... The best way to counter this is to simply maintain them well, proper alignments and religious rotations... Its not the tires fault, its the style of tire and the vehicles suspension and maintenance history.

Would have thought working at Discount they would have emphasized that you should never talk bad about another manufacturer... Oh right, Discount doesnt have a brand, in fact, you sell Bridgestone too...
