what about the inner parts of the rotorss...
its common single piston brakes to wear out the inner pads before the outers since the floating mechanism sometimes doesnt work as well as it should, just run your hand on the inside of the rotor and feel for scoring.
i dont actually know if the RX is a single or multi piston front caliper setup

thats just how semi-metallic brake pads sound sometimes...
here's the question, and unfortunately I don't have an answer as I'm not at work right now, but, did the vehicle come with ceramic pads or semi-metallic from the factory? if they came with ceramics, and semi-metallics were installed, then that is the problem... now, if it came with semi-metallic, and thats what is currently on the vehicle, you might just want to go ahead and do a brake job on it, consider replacing rotors as well...
