There have been other discussions about Kumho tires here previously. I had the Ecstas(sp?) on my last DD, and they had good grip wet or dry, but they were waaaayyy too noisey for me (compared to the Falken Azenis ST-115's I had before). If you don't like hearing loud road noise every day, get the Falken's instead.

it really depends on what you're comparing them to and what you want. i've installed hundreds of sets of kumho's on customer cars, replacing michelin, pirelli, good year, etc. and not one person ever complained. every mechanic i know is always impressed with kumhos. most of us put them on our own cars.
they usually balance very very well, and run quiet. for a street tire i'd highly recommend them. th4ey also make a very very good tire that the auto x guys love.

didn't even last me 10Kmiles and I already need another set! cheap when you buy them, but need to be replaced more often.....costs more in the long run! Would NEVER buy them again!

You get what you pay for. I liked my Kumhos better in the wet, dry grip was lacking. I didn't like the flatish sidewall either. For the price, they are a decent tire.

However, I haven't gone back to Kumhos since maybe 2002 or so.....

I'm running Kumho's SPT, it's good, rides as nice as my winter set with OEM17 on blizzarks, reasonably quiet despite 245/275, grips good enough for me, rarely slip, only in bumpy 90 degree corners with hard throttle for the traction control to kick in a bit...

But then I've yet to drive my car hard, as all roads here are boring and bumpy.

I use them when ever I can get them. For the price the quality is very good. I actually use Kuhmos and Sumitomo. I very satisfied with the tread life and ride quality.

What did you finally choose?
