Stay away from Yokohama S. Drive!!!
So as some of you might now I recently purchased my TSW Kyalami 20x8.5 and 20x10 a while ago... They came with Nitto NT555 all the way around with 245/35/20 up front and 275/30/20 in the rear... So I had to replace the rear tires cuz they were bald and with the current set up that I had my rear tires were thinner than the front so I moved up to a 285/30/20 in the rear... So after doing research on prices a good name brand tire in that size averaged at about $250 and up... so when I saw Yokohama for $200 a piece I didnt think twice about buying them... But after I had them mounted my handling was completely different, everytime I would go over 80 and switch lanes my car would feel like it was going to lose control... I don't really know how to say it but my rear end felt mushy... To sum it up it was a scary experience... So the manager at Discount took care of me and I swapped them out for nittos and I paid the difference all together I paid about $750 with warranties.. and needless to say the car feels alot better and im not worried about the handling anymore... But I thought i'd just give a heads up to any of you guys that think the Yokohamas are a good deal... This was just one of those instances where I got what I paid for... -Jayson

That might just be the tires breaking in. When they manufacture the tires, there is a slightly slippery mold material on the outside of the tire. It takes a hundred miles or two to wear it off. I had the same problem with my last set of new tires. That's why I don't buy new tires anymore. They cost too much and I go through them in a few months
Good thing I know someone that works at a porshe dealership that can get me the take-offs from the 997 Carrera Turbos. I don't know if those people have too much money or what, but most of the tires I get have 60-70% tread left. AND...they're all Michelin Pilot Sport 2's which usually cost $350-$400 PER TIRE!

I've had some S-Drives now for about 800 miles, 245/40-18. The sidewall is a bit softer and while turn in isn't as sharp as my previous tire, they feel pretty nice on mine.
YMMV, so glad you had a shop to make the adjustment and get a tire you like. Yoko has a 30 day return so it further sweetens the deal.
