SC300 tire question
Howdy, all. I recently bought a 99 SC300 that I need to get new rear tires for. Currently I have General Exclaim UHP 275/30-19s on there and the ride is a tad harsh. I am thinking of stepping up the sidewall to /35s; would there be any issues with this and would it help with ride quality? The car is very lowered on JIC Magic SF-1s (height adjustable only, AFAIK; I have an email in to JIC support trying to find out for sure) so I suspect that I would have to raise it a tad. Also, if I stay with the current size, I would either go with the Generals again (great price) or switch to Kumho Ecsta SPTs (what I currently have in front as 245/35-19s); the Kumhos are also availabe in the /35 sidewall...which is the better tire?

neither... first off, in your sizes, 19", that is, you are not going to get a good ride... secondly... if you have low profile tires like that, did you know you can increase your cornering speeds by about 25% just by going to a decent tire...
I had the Generals, I've driven the Kumhos... spend some money on the RE050's from Bridgestone or the KDW's from BFGoodrich... night and day difference...

I understand that 19's will ride somewhat harshly, but stepping up the sidewall should help at least a little, no? And how are the Bridgestones and BFGs in the rain? I got caught in the rain last week and it was not fun...

going from 30 to 35 will probably not make noticeable difference...
they are both excellent wet weather tires... for a performance tire, that is... granted, they are not true wet traction tires, they are both surprisingly comfortable in the wet (by comfortable, I mean, not scary)
