Default is it possible....

is it possible to shave the back spacing on a wheel to change it to a higher offset? i know some of you think its crazy because this would really challenge the stuctural integrity of the wheel but i don't think taking 3 to 5mm of is gona make an adverse difference. its just that i got this set of wheels that i really like that's almost a perfect fit on my ride and i would like to MAKE it fit with a little shaving and camber. some of us prefer to make the car fit the wheel but i wana try it the other way around
if its possible, anyone know who does it in nor cal and approximately how much is it gona cost me per wheel.

thanks guyz

I wont say if it is recomended or not, but I personally do know first hand of people doing this. Nothing dramitic and only if the hub as a lot of meterial, but at most they shaved like 3-5mm.

the problem isn't with the overall wheels structural integrity, but the amount of material in the lug holes... I have seen steel wheels ripped off the mounting pad by way of pulling the lugs through the holes... granted much less of a possibility with an aluminum wheel, but if you are thinning the part that the lug holds on to, it is definitely a possibility...

yeah, thats the part i ment, the hub part. am not sure how much metal i have behind the holes but will definately take a look asap. but it IS possible though, right. so anyone know of a place in nor cal who might be able to do it.

Kaydee; yes, will be shaving and pulling the fenders a tad. its just that i dont wana run a lot of camber or stretched tires
