Hi

I need to ship 4 tires (no rims) from CA to MN. I am looking for advice as to the best way to ship (UPS, FedEx, US Mail, something else) and how much I should expect to pay (ballpark). The tires are 235/65 17.

There is no rush on the ship speed but I am sensitive to cost.

i always thought it was about $100. that was typical charge to ship rims i believe. so i figure same for tires.

Try DHL.. I always use them for larger Items. If its just tires I bet you wont even be $70... Ship two and two...meaning package two of them up at a time..so you have a total of two packages not four.

Absolute cheapest will probably be Greyhound (if available). The reason being is that you have to take it to a Greyhound station and then someone has to pick it up from a Greyhound station on the other end. Check it out...

If it's just tires, FedEX. I shipped a spare wheel (rim and tire which weighs around 40lbs) cross country for $17. FedEX isn't picky about packaging. You can just slap a label right onto the tires. So you can ship it in 4 "packages".

Exactly, FedEx is the best route. Cheap and no packaging necessary for tires. I've done in plenty of times.
