Nitto tires
I am considering these tires for my '08 GS 350 with 20" wheels. The wheels will be here next week.
The Nitto offers a 235/35/20 to go with the rear of 275/30/20. Is the 235/35 tire wide enough?
Is the Nitto Extreme a good tire in the rain? I would rather have a little rubbing with the Bridgestone 245/35/20 fronts than risk a poor tire in the rain at 85 MPH. Here in Florida it really rains.
Any of you owned Nitto extreme? Does my front tire size impact hydroplaning at 85 MPH?
Any opinions are greatly appreciated as my life depends on a tire that works well in the rain. Thanks. I would glady trade some dry handling for superior rain performance.

Actually majority of low profile tires are not really designed to be driven in heavy rainstorms hence the reason why they usually call them summer only (dry weather) tires. If you're looking for a great all season tire, you should look at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S or the Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S, Ultra High Performance Season.
Something you should consider when you're shopping for tires is one with deep channels or tire sipes that allow water to be channeled away from your tread patch. Some get away with summer tire compounds for inclement weather, but your chances of hydroplaning with summer tires are a lot greater than most.

I have them on my car too (Nitto Invo). I replaced the oem sized run-craps. The difference is night and day between the run craps. Much better ride, and the grip is amazing. These cars can do a complete 180 if you come out of 1st and slam 2nd in cold weather. I was out last week doing full throttle 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts and in 35degree weather and it never slid.
I like them alot! I cant really judge them as a luxury tire yet (have'nt really used them on a ultra lux car extensively.)

I have a GS400 and my summer tires i run the Nitto 555 Exstreems.
Front 245/35ZR20 95W
Rear 275/30ZR20 97W
I have not had any problems problems with them and really dont have any complaints. They do make noise but not bad and was told by a few friends its more of the big whell size and short rubber that will give you the noise, mainly from the concreat freeways around here when ou go over the cracks in the road. Nothing tearible though. Ive drove like a madman in the rain a few times with them and had no problems, the always held. I went through a pudlle, (more like small pond) on the freeway at about 80MPH cause i didnt see it and went through fine, but a car behind me slid off the road. So im happy with them. Hope this helps
