Default Question abour drilling tires for TPMS

Hey guys, I have some 20" Auto Couture Latives which are suppose to get to the dealer I bought them from sometime this week.

I'm facing a dilemma with these TPMS sensors. I have an 07 I350. I was originally going to buy some new sensors and ship them to the dealer and have them installed (for free). But when I called around to buy them, the best deal I could get was $400.

My next choice was to have my stock ones removed (for $40 ) and then ship those off and have them installed.

I was told the wheels would have to be drilled to fit the sensors. Is there anything negative about doing this? Any downsides?

I would like to keep the sensors, but if it continues to be a big headache, I'll just throw them into the spare tire and call it a day.

I also heard about these:

http://www.iforged.com/press/may25/may25.php

But, I don't know if they will work with the wheels I'm getting and so far all the dealers I've called don't know what I'm talking about.

Oh and by dealers, I mean wheel/after market dealers, not Lexus.

Any input and advice is appreciated.

They will work so long as the tire sensor is oriented in the same direction as it was in the stock wheel...

What do you mean?

So long as the sensor which was in the left front tire is in the new left front tire it will work?

no, as in... how it's oriented in the wheel... if it was sitting at a specific angle with the valve stem pointing out, it needs to be as close as possible to that same angle on the new wheel... there are inertial sensors in them that only work properly if oriented correctly...

If it's not drilled properly, it might leak.
