Tire size for 98 es
Hello,
I am looking at some 98gs wheels with 245 50 16 tires, will these fit my 98 es? I checked for the speed at http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
and it is very close, but will it rub, look bad or affect the performance of the car in various weather settings?
Thanks!!

You may have some clearance issues on the rear strut tubes.
Are you putting these on the stock wheels? If so, they'll look horrid; the stock wheels are too narrow for a 245 tire. I'd stick with the OE size - they're already "ballooned" way past the rims...
I see cars all time with up-sized tires with the OE wheels and 'too wide' tires. I don't know why people do it; it looks strange and handling is compromised. If the tire width is 'outside' of the normal rim width range (i.e. 16x6.5 wheel and a 245 tire -which is 9.6" wide- and requires a minimum of a 7.5" wide wheel) the tire's performance is reduced (because the bead is pinched) and can actually make the wider tire perform worse than the OE tire.

Thanks for the reply! They are already on a 98 gs stock wheel so I haven't even seen them. But I thought the size sounded a little too big. So it probably would work on my car?
