Default Pilot Sport PS2

Just want to know if any of you guys have these tires on your aftermarket wheels in a size 19". If so how do you like the comfort, handling, and performance of them? Did you have a problem swapping out the sensors and where is a cheap place to get a set of them? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank You

after reading the reviews on Tire Rack, i went w/General Exclaim UHP, 225/35/19 F and 245/45/19 R. i wanted to maintain factory specs as much as possible...on a tire that would last more than 14Kmiles. they're a bit louder than stock but not sure if thats strictly due to plus size or tire brand...next set will be different.

I have PS2 245/40/19, 275/35/19. I think they are best tires for the size I have. After @1k miles they are quieter than new, handle great, and hold air exceptionaly good. I check the air every week and they have yet to drop any psi. I would love to try a set of Conti's only because I ran Conti's on my MB and Porsche but they don't have the sizes I need. I think the Conti's rides even better, and quieter than Michelin but it does not handle as good.

BB430,

I'm thinking of getting this exact size of PS2 on my LS430 (to replace the NOISY Dunlops). Could you tell me more about the vehicle you have them on (model, all stock? etc.), the noise and ride qualities compared to other tires you've had on that vehicle, etc.? Any input would be appreciated. I REALLY don't want to buy another set of tires that I'm not happy with. I mainly want to go for lowest noise and best ride in this size 19s. I think any tire in this size will be fine performance wise on these laser-straight roads we have here in Florida.

I6Turbo,
This is on an 01' LS430 UL, all stock w/ no drop on ride height. I went from stock 17" w/MXV4 to 19" w/Falken 452 to 19" w/PS2.
The 452 are just too loud, they hum from 30MPH and up. The faster you drive the louder it gets. They were rougher compare to the PS2. Handling are about same but than again, I am driving a big LS430 sedan, I am not gonig to corner from apex to apex.
Overall the PS2s are great tires(at least to me). They are a bit noisey, rides a bit stiffer than stock 17". But since they are larger than stock 17" so all these are to be expected. As I mention before, they are quieter after about 1k miles.
Now, I did not consider Goodyear, Bridgestone and never mind the Nitto, Toyo or other lesser brands because I did not want to make another $1400 mistake. I went with Michelin because I had PS2 w/ my Porsche and I was happy with them.
Now the straight roads you have there are problebly similar to what we have here in TX. Only we are much HOTTER...

Thanks. The Tire Rack review system gives them an 8.6 on Noise (Superior rating, and IIRC better than every other tire in the class except a particular Bridgestone). This indicates to me that they should be pretty quiet but I wish I could hear them for myself on an LS430 because it's hard to judge based upon other people's comparison of OTHER cars....

Not to keep pestering you about it, but You said they are 'a bit noisy'... In your recollection, how do you think they compare to the MXV4s you had. Are the PS significantly louder?

Thanks again.

I can't offer any info with 19"s but I have 18"s and they are much better than my previous sets of nitto 555's and Yokohama ES100's.

When I had the 452's they were so loud that I was just happy the PS2's are quieter, and my indication were from my wife; She stop telling me that the tires were noisy anymore. But as I remembered from the old MXV4s, they were "silence" and PS2s are "quiet". You WILL hear some tire howling but not to a point of turning up the stereo's volumn to "cover" the noise. As long as I have some music on, I don't hear any tire noises.
I can't think of any other way to describe to you but I think you should be satisfy with them if you already had some issues with your Dunlops...Hope this help...

I have the Michelin PS2'S on my Stock 18" rims and I love them. Best modification I've done to my car. They are quiet and hold the turns much better than the stock Dunlops. They are also lighter than the stockers!

Thanks bb430 and caymandive. bb430, your description fits about what I would have 'hoped' to be the case with the PS2 on a 430. I've had a couple sets of PS1 on my Supra and while they were very quiet for a max performance tire (and I don't really think I hear any noticeable tire noise from them), I'd kinda expect them to be something less than 'silent' on a 430. The Bridgestone ER33s that were on my 430 when I bought it were silent, as you describe for the MXV4s. I'm not expecting to get that level of quiet on this size and profile of tire, but I want to get as close as possible. Thanks again.
