widening stock rims
i dont know which section this would go in since it's not really performance but it's not suspension either. it's related to both though!
anyway, has anyone ever widened the stock rim (rear) by cutting a chunk out of the front and putting it on the rear? i know it sounds pretty crazy and possibly unsturdy?
but i've seen a supra guy cut about an 1" or more from his front wheels and welded that extra inch or two onto the rear wheels (after he cut them in two, he had them welded up). i don't think i recall him having any problems running them. but he was the only one that i heard doing such a thing.
my goal was pretty much making a stock sleeper drag set up. where it can be hub centric as well because it's factory. cut an 1" or 2" off the front and make them around 5"- 6" run some skinnies up front and the rear 8"-9" wide. perfect to fit some 28x11.5x15's !
well actually if i wanted to run skinnies then the recommended wheel width is 4-4.5" wide so i'd have to take a good amount off! lol
any insight would be appreciated

i've seen aluminum wheels that this has been done to...
not my idea of a "safe" design, and it will never pass for tech inspection anywhere if they truly see what was done...
on top of that, the money you pay someone to cut, weld, etc would probably be the same or exceed what a cheap set of Welds would cost ya...
