'94 LS 400 Rims + Springs
I recently installed ASA ST3 Bright SIlver 18 ic rims with Kumho Ecsta 235/50-18.
I was surprised to find that the original 16 inchers + tires were lighter than the new set
I'm liking the set up but when I hit a bump, all the tires touch.
I installed new shocks recently but the springs are still the originals from 94 so I'm pretty sure they are the problem.
I just ordered H&R springs and they will lower my car 1.0 Inch all around and I'm hoping they won't make the problem any worse.
Does anyone else have ideas or had similar problems after mounting bigger rims?
In another note, I'm glad you guys at the Tire Rack picked up Volk rims after I suggested that in my customer surveys

OK. I have figured out what's going on.
The sides of my tires are touching my fenders.
The wheels must be too wide.
I ordered these rims and wheels from the Tire Rack several months ago but only recently put them on.
When I check the Tire Rack now, the wheels are still available but don't show up under the LS400 anymore.
I've only put a few miles on the tires going back and forth to the body shop to install the H&R Springs and back.
The new springs have only made things worse as they lowered the car about an inch all around.

lol I've been told by Jim to deal with it.
I have to switch to smaller diameter tires and roll the plastic fender liner.
They have a note saying you have to modify the plastic fender liner but, they didn't "notify" me when purchasing.
That tire size was the one recommended by the site at the time of purchsae.
Man they should make these notes available to customers who shop online.

the 1.5LS(93-94) is supposed to run a 245/45/18. a 235/50/18 tire is just TOO TALL for the car. going from the stock 225/60/16 to a 235/50/18 is a 2.32% difference in overall diameter versus using a 245/45/18 which has a mere 0.23% difference.
im running 18's with a 245/40/18 tire on my 2LS no problems (slightly off because of wheel's previous owner) and im fairly low with no rubbing issues.
