tire fitment question
Will a 275/40/17 fit on a 17x9 rim without making it look like a bubble? Or is this tire too wide for a 9 inch rim? If unsure, I can always go 265/40 instead..
Is anyone running 275's on 17x9 Supra TT rims?

Aside from these both being gross domestic vehicles...they are sporting 275mm wide tires on 17x9 rims.
Definitely more of an athletic than executive tire fitment. But, as I mentioned in the SC Wheel/Tire fitment thread, I would go for it if I were you.
Keep an eye on tire weight. With wider tires, weight will increase. Changes in tire weight influence rotational inertia at the wheels moreso than changes in rim weight. Continental makes the lightest always. Michelin, Sumitomo, and some others are often very close.

Exclaim UHP tires are a great value. They are made by Continental, so they are super light. The 275mm Exclaim UHP's are probably as light as whatever smaller width tire you were running previously. This will keep your intertia at the wheels constant and not slow you down any.

I read that they were pretty light compared to most smaller tires, and that becuase of this they release a lot of unsprung weight at the corners. I think I will have the car corner balanced after I get the new tires just to maximize their efficiency. Thanks again for the help Blizzy!
