Default GS400: 19x8.5 +30 and 19x9.5 +25 too crazy?

Simple offset question, I've searched through all the posts and +38 to +42 is what everyone recommends for 98-05 GS's, but I'm wondering if these will fit at all?

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=8&bp=5-114.3

19x8.5 +30
For the front.

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...9.5&bp=5-114.3

19x9.5 +25
For the rear.

I don't mind a little bit of fender work (i.e. rolling) but I don't want to have to shave or cut anything...

I currently have Tein springs on KYB shocks... only lowered it about an inch or so I'd guess. If I have to use spacers on the rear that's cool too...

Thanks in advance for the help.

There's quite a few members that are running more aggressive offsets than those. Tire size and brand will play a roll on getting them to fit, and rolling the fenders are going to be a must.

For example, if I was running the same size wheels as what you are planning to get. My specs would look like 19x8.5 +21 and 19x9.5 +18.

Ok cool, Tire size is 235/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear... shouldn't be an issue correct? (Minutes away from purchasing now)

You might want to go with a more narrow tire. 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 if you want to be square with the wheels or 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 if you want a mild stretch look to it.

Yeah, those are over 1/4" more inboard than mine... ride height will have an affect on how they'll fit; the lower you go, the more inboard they will look.

I'd go with 265/30-19 rear (instead of 275) if you don't want to do significant rear fender mods. They won't really stretch at all on these narrow-ish wheels, so this may affect how they'll fit.

Question for you Bob, I have 275/35 on my 9.5 inch wheels at the back and the car is lowered so that you can barely fit your finger in between the tire and fender, however I don't have any issues with rubbing whatsoever and my fenders have not been modded either.

What am I missing here when you just commented that he would have rubbing issues with the 275's on a 9.5 inch rim?

So there's no modification or rubbing problems on your 9.5 wheel with a +25 offset running a 275 wide tire?

Busted!

Hi Hameed. It's all about the combination of tire offset, wheel width, and tire
.
For example, Michelins and the new Yokohama Advan Sport run "wider" than,
for example, a Nitto or Falken. This mostly has to do with the sidewall shape.
Some tires are more "square shouldered" than others.
That's why making wheels is so difficult- you test one car with a wheel and
tire, it works great... change the brand of tire and suddenly the tires rub!

As you said, you can barely get a finger between your tire & the fender...
I can barely get a credit card between mine... it looks nuts!
