I tried to search but this is not a topic that is covered much? My question is-- What is the top grade alloy that wheel manufacturers use? Is it T6061 (T6-6061)? Or is there a better or equivalent grade aluminum alloy that is used? My wheels are made with T6061 alloy but I believe it is cast and not forged. How much difference is there between T6061 cast wheels and T6061 forged wheels in terms of structural integrity? I know that the forging process is better than cast, but just trying to get an idea of how strong my wheels actually are and what it is comparable to.
