Question, will aset of 17X8 OEM GS 400 (2002) 5 star tye rims fit on an 2001 IS?
I have a guy looking to buy my rims but I dont want to steer him wrong. Any ideas.

I've seen pictures of the IS 5-star rims on a 2GS, so I would think that the 5-star GS rims would fit the IS.

It should work. Just don't go too wide on the tires. 225 should be OK.

Fitting IS wheels on the GS is fine since the offset still works and the rims are narrower. Not optimal, but it works. Fitting GS wheels on the IS is potentially more difficult since you are putting wider rims on a car with less wheelwell space.

OEM IS wheels are 17x7 while the GS OEM wheels are 17x8. In any case, like I said above, it should work. The situations just is not as clear cut in terms of interchangeability.

the rear is no problem. the front is close, with gs stock tires you might rub very little bit

I dont want to jack a guy by selling him a set of rims that DONT fit correctly.
