I am considering going from the OEM wheel to a larger aftermarket product. Certain wheels offer fitment with certain tire combinations that negatively affect the load index rating.
I drive a stock 96 SC400. The curb weight is about 3600 lbs. The load index on the stock tire is 94 (ie. 1477lbs).
What is a safe load index to stay above if going to a lower profile tire that is weaker?
