Q about ES300 alignment / strut repl
Gents, I recently purchased new Michelin tires and took the opportunity to change the front strut top mounts due to them being noisy (1998 ES300). Since replacing the struts would be no additional labor, I did.
The car drove great for about a month and I started getting a noise from the front left. I took it back to the place the did the work and they diagnosed it as a faulty strut (rare). So I got a new one and had them install it and re-align.
The car now feels like something is off, it is twitchy/darty (tracks away from straight much easier) going down the road, drifts from left to right. Also it seems that once tracking offcenter, it takes a decent amount of wheel input to get it back straight, then it is difficult to stop in the middle (if that makes any sense). Seems that wheel input does not result in linear response. What bothers me the most is that it was perfect before the noise with the new struts.
I plan to have another shop do a 4 wheel alignment and check the results. Any other suggestions or something I need to pay special attention to?
Thanks
