Which wheel looks/performs the best on the GS430?
I need some mad input... What kind of wheels should I get for the 2001 GS430? If you have pics of the wheel on the car, that would help out a ton! I'm also not sure to get chrome or gun-metal? I'm gonna be doin alittle racing, but mostly show car...

If you want to race, chrome will definitely slow you down and it doesn't look good on silver car body IMO. If you want performance, 18" is the perfect size/performance. 20" will also slow you down a little and you have to be careful not to break the tyres.

True performance wheels
Even though I am running 19X9 and 19X10 AVS Model5's, I'd say 17X8 (235ZR17) and 17X10 (275ZR17) if you want sheer performance. Also get light weight forged wheels. Less rotational inertia and more rubber for the car. You can't go wrong with the AVS Model 6 or Volk TE37.

Hello v300
If you're gonna get some sheer performance wheels (17x8 17x10 like you said) which ones would you pick? What about other than Model 6 or TE37?

I like the Model 6's and the TE37's. They are mainstream among Japanese tuner cars for a reason. They are light (density thing... for their size), durable, forged, balanced, have enough clearance for big caliper brake systems that do not require spacers. I think they work. I also like Buddy Club's P-1 Racing.

v300 - Buddy Club...hehehe, man, I haven't heard that in a while...
Diesel - What do you mean you can't drop a car with a body kit on 20's? I have a GS430 with 20's lowered on coilovers...it's actually BETTER to have 20's with a body kit because the overall diameter of 20's is LARGER than a typical 19" or 18" setup and therefore your car is higher off the ground but "looks" lower because the wheel well is filled out a lot better...
Also, if you're going to do some "racing", get a better car to race than a GS...a IS is a better platform for that...I wouldn't get small "sheer performance" wheels because most people can't drive good enough to be able to turn in faster lap times due to wheel size (17" to 20")...besides, are you really racing this car? I have 20's and I still rip it up in the canyons...I know that I can't drive my car faster with 18's (I've tried)...
But even with all the mods I have (coilovers, sways, f/r STB, LCB, etc., etc.) the GS is still no "race car"...don't fool yourself...a well setup "econobox" with the right driver can hand you your *** in the twisties...
However, if you are going to go 20's, getting less heavy wheels (like forged ones) would keep your acceleration from going down...(but then again, heavy wheels in any size will do that...hint, don't get chrome)
