Cool Ahhh! Got a screw in the tire....lol

I was driving with the windows down tonight. As I approached a redlight, I heard. Click, click, click, click, click....... The frequency of the click decreased the slower I went. So I knew something was in my tire!

Well, heres the bad news....these are some Eagle F1GS-D3 tires. The good news is that they are down to like 5% tread or less. I can't safely drive in the rain with these Not to mention it probably won't pass state inspection.

Oh yeah, the other piece of good news is that I have a set of brand new BFG KDW2 sitting in my garage for the past 2 weeks

Anyways my question is. Should I get them patched or not? I wanted to do a big burnout video on the weekend before I swapped over to the KDW2's. I'm thinking of not patching it and just go ahead with the burnout Not to mention the guys at Discount Tire probably won't patch the tire since it has almost no tread left.

So what do you guys think?

hmm if your just doing the burnout video, i'd get that tirefoam stuff that temporarily seals the hole in order to get the car to a tire replace shop, that way you can do a better burnout i think. then after that change out your tires of course.

i wouldn't do the tire foam stuff since I wouldn't trust that stuff on the outside of the barrel of my rims.

discount tire will patch it, no problems. if you tell them why you want to patch it - they'll probably be more inclined to help you out.

i can't wait for the burn out - I WANNA HEAR THE L-TUNED EXHAUST MAN!!!

audio/video clip please.

Cliffud, I took a video today of the exhaust. My new camera records videos in MOV format! and I dont have the correct software to downsize the video....the file as is was like 175mb....lol

Oh yeah, the tire still holds air. It hasn't leaked. So, thats why I was asking if I should just burn it out as is. I might stop by discount tire on the way to get it patched if they don't mind. I'm gona bring my electric jack & tools with me incase the tire blows out in the middle of the burnout....lol

Just make sure the tire with the nail isn't in the back. If it is then you should switch it with one of the front tires.

"BINGO"!! Evem if it's a staggered setup, I would simply switch front to rears for their last big ride.

just burn out on it. if the tire flats on you, just make sure you have a spare incase.

no sense trying to patch it and then you'll be swopping out the tires in a few days.

If the screw is in one of the rear tires, this might add some sparks to the burnout. Could make for a cool video. Think about it.

I wouldn't bother patching it up, just have the tire shop put a plug in it.... Just as good as a patch but maybe not as permanent, and definitely alot cheaper and easier to do.
