Default Good Tires for Keeping Rims Intact ?

It seems like my General UHP Tires are too soft to keep my rims from bending. The least little bump and I have a bent rim. I keep my tires now at 40PSI, so I don't think it's the pressure.

What are some good semi stiff, good handleing, tires that will protect my 19" rims a little better ?

I have Toyo t1-r's, they handle great and look great too, very nice tread. I've had Nitto's in the past, they handle great but in my case were very susceptible to damage, that may have just been my bad luck tho. Never drove Kumho's.

i'm a fan of the nitto 555 tires. they offer a great lip protector and i think a sidewall thickness is the best protection against bent rims...

possibly the run flat tires as well since they offer a beefier sidewall simply by design.

I have the Kumho Ecsta in 18's and they seem to ba a very decent tire (haven't had them long). Very quiet and comfortable ride, good handling and offer a substantial amount of lip protection.

I am trying to decide whether to give stiffer tires a shot or just go down to 18" wheels and tires.
Hmmmm ??????
