20x8.5 or 20x7 on a ls

i know this is really stupid but i dont know any thing about wheels.iam looking at a 20x8.5 with a +35 offset are these rims going to fit or stick out past the fender.also my friend is going to sell me some rims but i dont know if i want them because there 20x7.do you think the 20x7 will be to small??
