Replacement lips for old 3 piece wheels? where & who?
I've got some circa '92 SSR DeColte's on my SC right now. They're 17" 3 piece wheels, but the lips just arent big enough for my car. (They were formerly on my FC3S, so the width and offsets are very conservative)
I want to disassemble the wheels and put in a new outer ring (lip) so I can have a nice set of spare wheels.
Any place sell components like this?
I know that I'll have to take it to a machine shop to drill new holes...but it's all worth it.

Got your PM...
I must say, I think this is going to be a challenge. Currently, The Tire Rack is the U.S.
importer for SSR. Unfortunately, most Japanese wheel companies will not sell rim
halves seperately- if one gets damaged, they make you buy an entire new wheel.
I would start by contacting the Tire Rack, but to be honest, I think that's a dead-end.
The only other option might be to try and get these guys to drill some outers for you:

I'm doing this for some old 17" Work wheels I am rebuilding for a friend; they are 'stepped' or
'standard' contour wheels. If your wheels are 'reverse contour' (flat lip), I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything...
Best of luck,
Bob

Hi Bob,
Thank you for chiming in on this, i'm sure there are probably some others who would be interesting in doing something like this as well.
Unfortunately, getting the wheel halves from Tanabe Japan/SSR or Tire Rack is a non-option and currently a logistical nightmare. I know this for a fact
Those are the wheels...and it will definitely be a project that will require a bit of patience. Have you started a thread about what you're doing with your friend's wheels? I'd love to give it a read.
That's a fantastic link to kodiakracingwheels and looks like a very good option if they can machine a ring to my wheel's specifications.
