New GS owner...tire help needed
Hi all, I became a 2003 GS430 owner over the weekend and it needs tires BAD. I got the car through an auction and this was known from start. My question is which tires should I get? I am looking for a quiet and comfy ride, but with excellent handling. The wheels are stock 17x8's and was not really looking to change them out. The guy I deal with can get me tires at wholesale through tire rack and without shipping, so if they have them even better. Any recomendations? Glad to be part of the club. Thanks everyone!!

congrats on your new car, and welcome to clublexus!
personally i had the perelli pzero nero, very soft and quiet, handling was ok. now i have the michelin a/s, just as quiet, much better handling, but more expensive. i heard that the ps2 is even better, but not-so-good tread wear

Hear anything about the Avon Tyres M550 A/S'? I was reading a review of a GS owner who ditched the stock tires and got those. They are pretty cheap too. Thanks again

I believe Henry is refering to the michelin pilot sport a/s. I also use them for my winter set up and they are a good tire but expensive. Also with the mich ps a/s be careful with the psi. I was running 39 all around and the center rib on the rear tires started to wear quicker than the rest of the tire tread.

I've read a lot of those reviews on Tirerack and decided to go with the General Exclaim UHP's. Great price....very quiet and a very aggressive thread pattern. Also like the 320 wear rating and the WR speed rating. Its a new performance line for General so not many people on here have tried them out. I like being the guinnea pig and so far so good. Did I mention they are CHEAP also Good luck....your head will spin with all the options out there for tires.
