Default Will Runflats help protect my wheels more???

Hi everyone..

This might be a very wierd question, but i was wondering if anyone can help?? I have a set of 19' Wald D23 wheels for my SC430. Orignally, the car came w/ runflats and everyone on this forums hates the runflats, but personally...it doesnt matter. My question is, if i got 19's runflats since the sidewalls are much stronger than normal tires will this help me from bending my wheels through potholes and such??

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Just depends on just how hard you hit those potholes, Although they are runflat tires, they are prone and susceptable to the same damage, shocks and beatings that other tires take. When runflats are damaged, yes thay actually do go flat for a hot minute. Just that with the stronger sidewalls, with your car rolling, the sidewalls of the tires are more prone to take the weight of the car rolling until you can stop and get changed. In a nutshell, if a rim is gonna bend. it gonna bend regardless, chances are you might just have a slighht edge over someone who doesn't have them. Tradeoff-- poor/noisy /harsh ride quality.

agree, it's more about how bad you hit. the runflats are basically SUPER fat rubber that's all,if you hit hard enough, you are still going to damage something

is it true that with the stiffer sidewalls needed to make it a runflat makes for a really harsh ride?

Default what about these size tires??/

if i got these size tires for my 19's staggered will this mean that the tire will be thicker and it will add more cushion for my rims?

245/40/WR19 Front
275/35/WR19 Rear

right now, i have this size tire Front: 245/35-19 Bridgestone S-03 Rear: 275/30-19 Bridgestone S-03 and i want more protection. being a girl driver..and terrible at dodging the potholes, i need the most protection i can get..

any help would be great!

no it won't be "thicker", the sizes are determined already, it only means more rubber on the inside to make it "thick", you won't see the rubber thickness from the outside
