People with aftermarket wheels -- What did you do about tire pressure sensors??
If you have a 2IS and put on some aftermarket wheels what did you do about the tire pressure senors? I dont have sensors in my new wheels and the tire pressure warning light is getting to me. If I were to take the sensors out of my stock wheels and transfer them, it would cost alot of money since 8 wheels/tires have to be taken apart and put back together again. I heard about some dolly tire thing here before. Got any suggestions? thanks.

I just got my aftermarket wheels and tires on the car and they transferred the sensors for me while they were mounting the new tires. If it was me I would bite the bullet and get the sensors transferred. With low profile tires you really need to keep an eye on the pressure...
Also, they really don't have to completely dismount the tire, they just let the air out, push the sidewall down with the machine, push the sensor into the tire and reach in and grab it. At least thats what they did on mine...
The trick I think you are talking about throwing the sensors in a wheelbarrow wheel and putting 35 psi in that and throwing it in the trunk. Apparently the sensors can be read from anywhere in the car. If you search you can probably find 2 or 3 threads on this.

hey nine,
its worth getting the sensors transferred. shop around, i got mine transferred for 120 total at a local shop. considering how much our car/wheels are worth, a buck twenty isnt too bad. also, its nice to have another indicator that our tires may b lo on air.
