currently i am running 245/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear. i need tires in the front and i was wondering would it be fine for me to run 245/40/19 or 245/45/19? thanks

245/40. No 245/45. I would not do this for too long as the front will now be about 1" taller than the rear.

you have 245/35 now. if you want to run fat setup, you do 245/40

that's fine but what chris said was that you should change the rears to 285/35 soon too, so that the front and rear overall diameters are matching

Sorry if I was not being clear. I know some people do not like the extra rubber on the fat setup but I prefer the fat setup on 19s. For me it is either fat 19s or "normal" 20s. My vote would be to change the front to fat like you planned but also plan on changing the rears (to fat also) soon.

How soon is up to you. Like I said, your fronts will be taller than the rear by 1". The circumference of the wheels will be different. This may affect the ABS sensors. It might not do anything in normal driving but could have an effect in critical situations. It is hard to tell since no one is going to go out and test that.

I am also not sure what it does to the speedo, odo, ... I am not familiar enough with the car to know what sensors are used for all this. As with other mods we do to the car, it might not be optimal as far as OEM is concerned. Even going fat deviates from OEM specs. I have seen people driving with a half and half setup like this to maximize budget constraints and I have not heard of issues. You can put it on and see. Up to you.

Visually, though, it will not look so good with the fronts being bigger and higher than the rear.

i see what you mean. is there a bit more comfort in going fatter? should i go down to 235 instead of 245?

Any particular reason why? Just curious about your line of thought. 245/285 is optimal as is 235/275. What are your rims' specs?

to me 235/245 and 275/285 are pretty close, personally i don't take it too much. they are all good match imho
