So I went to my local mod shop and asked about the Volk GT-7 for my IS 350, sort of know the guy from friends and family, and he quoted me $3100 for just the wheels. They would be 19 X 8.5F and 19X9.5R. Is this a good price or should I shop around??

He said not to worry about the offsets, he would figure that all out for me with assistance through Volk. He also said these wheels would take about 2-3 months to get, since they are all custom made to specs, and Volk just doesnt have inventory laying around. Anyone know if this is true??

Oh yeah, forgot to also say that this would be a custom color as well. Black rims with a silver lip. and of course tires are not included in the $3100 price.

you must be crazy or rather that dude trying to sell you these wheels !!! that price should be close to a set with tires!! like mentioned already, ask d2-autosport or search around the net to compare. here's where i bought my volks and i looked up your model and sizes you wanted: $2242.90 http://www.forperformance.com/rays/wheels/gt7/gt7.html

That is the exact rim setup I just ordered. I paid 2400 with centercaps shipped to my door. I am also getting 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9.5 back. Yes there is a 3 month wait because they are made in Japan. Also keep in mind the black colored rim is a special color so you will pay a little more for them versus the noble gold, mercury silver, or gunmetal. hope this helps.

yellowssm, what offsets did you get too? Just want to see if these dealers will suggest the same offsets that you got as well. conflicting offsets for the exact same car and wheel would be fishy

oh, i reread your post and saw you were getting the rbc black color..that site i posted indicates $150 per rim for that custom color so total would be $2842.90.

yes, i got then gt-n model from them..if you click on that model that's my old black nsx on there.
service was outstanding. i believe the contact was named mike, but this was two years ago.

I talked to volk in Japan and they said 36 or 46 will work up front and 40 in the rear

Keep shopping around. You can do much better than those prices.

I HIGHLY doubt you will do better than these prices for the rims you are looking for unless you just get the regular colors.
Also Volk wheels just had a price increase a few days ago, but good luck to you in your search. I checked 10 different places and these were the lowest I found anywhere that were brand new.
