Question re: alignment and brake dust cleaning
If you get your pads and rotors changed...should you get a front end alignment after if I just had one done right before?
Also....what is a good way to clean off old and grimey brake dust from chrome rims? I have tried normal wheel cleaners and they do not help...this stuff is really on there.

Be real careful with chrome- lots of those "spray on, hose off" cleaners have acids that damage the chrome.
You won't see the damage until much later.
So you're left with conventional cleaners, detergents and elbow grease.
Believe it or not, tin foil might help- it is soft enough not to scratch.
If you don't get enough responses here, try www.autopia.org

Well, I have never had to resort to that. After my first set of chromes rotted away due to "chrome cancer", I got a new set from mikeloc24 (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=166090) - those are in great shape and I don't need to use anything besides car soap and a plastic wheel brush.
But you said your dust was old and grimy, and I read once on www.autopia.org that foil can be used on chrome.
Like I said, there's plenty of chrome wheel cleaning tips on that web page if you don't get enough answers here.
