gs 430 wheels
i bought some stock 17" gs 430 wheels. put them on a 1996 gs300. couple problems.
1.the ride is not that smooth.
2. car vibrates after applying brakes(might need to replace rotors and pads).
3.odd sound coming from tires. almost like rubbing. but there is no rub.
4. no hub rings (could this be problem)?
5. front driver needed spacer.
note: vehicle is clean, no accidents.
was it my mistake putting these wheels on. i appreciate the help.

GS 17" Wheels
Hey Lex,
Going from 16s to 17s would explain the change in ride, you have less side wall and so the ride won't be a soft, on the upside it should corner better. The vibration under braking would seem more like a rotor problem than a wheel induced problem, if it was the wheel you would feel the vibration all the time. I would take your ride to Discount Tire or any reputable place and have your wheels balanced just in case. I would not anticipate that hub rings would be required with OEM wheels and requiring a spacer for the driver fronts sounds really curious. As for the rubbing noise some tires can get really noisy after they wear down which may explain the noise. I hope this helps....

thanks for the advice, the only thing that bothers me is that my driver side front wheel is the only one that needs a spacer. I bought the car from a dealer and it came with a carfax report which reported no accidents. the vehicle runs clean as if it was never involved in an accident. ill take it to a reputable shop to see what they tell me.
