Default caliper rubbing my new rim (please help)

I have a 1999 GS400 and I just got some new rims, 20x8.5 +34 mm offset all around. I put the first wheel on and the back of the rim is rubbing part of my caliper. I have pictures attached showing where it is rubbing on the caliper. It looks like it is not a seriously vital part of the caliper, and I am wondering if I can just shave that part down a little to make it not rub my rim. Or I was thinking a wheel spacer. If anyone can give me some advice on this matter I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Personally, I'd get new wheels. The offset is on the border of aggressive and it is rubbing on the OEM calipers. Not good. Even getting spacers, it will make the wheel move out even more.

Can you determine how much more is needed to clear? This may help to determine if shaving the caliper is even warranted.

I would say it needs to shave down around 1mm or 1.5mm at most. What do you think about the part of the caliper it is rubbing on?

you need at least not touching plus 2mm space to be safe imho, that's quite a bit shaving.

personally i would just forget these wheels and get something else

Sorry. I don't have any personal experience with saving down a caliper. Taking 2-3mm off, there is just no way to tell how it will affect the caliper's integrity. I avoid this situation if at all possible.

Are these new rims? If so, can you exchange them? I would be hesitant to put on rims that does not even clear the OEM calipers.

I hope you can get this resolved without any shaving.

If you can exchange them and they give you some offset numbers, post back your options before making the final decision.

I am going to see about an exchange as soon as possible. I was thinking about the 20"x8.5 ALBA BATTLE. I could not find the offset for these. Do you all think these would work without any problems?

try some slip on 3mm or 5mm spacers, its probably your cheapest option as this point
