Default Lowering the car

Hello all,

I am currently looking at getting four 19 x 8.5 wheels (not staggered) with 245/35/19 tires on them for my '05 GS300. Will I need to change the springs to lower the car to make it "look right"? I'm just wondering if this setup will make my GS look like a truck. Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. I know that different wheel and tire combos will look different, but just let me know approximately if I will need to lower the car.

its personal preference if you want to lower it or not. if you decide not to lower it just use a thicker tire to fill the wheelwell. but it looks much better if you lower it with that size.

agree, it's always your choice, but to me the car will never look ok on larger wheels without a good drop

Thanks guys, that was my thought also...

I was thinking about dropping it using aftermarket springs only, since it is a cheaper alternative to coil-over systems costing many times more. After a good investment of around $2k for wheel/tire combo, I need a lower cost option for dropping the car. Any good suggestions on quality springs and approximately how much it needs to be dropped (ball park figure)?

Thanks.

I have always had good results with the Eibach pro-kit springs. Usually the ride quality is still pretty good with a nice stance. I usually see the Eibachs for about $250 new, plus the cost of installation. There are cheaper springs out there, but you might want to search the GS forums to see what those guys have had good results with.
