Im an idiot ..what do I need hub rings for?

I've never had the hubrings on, stock or aftermarket wheels. I have them in my basement, in a bag with my stock lugnuts, but I don't use them. And I drive 90 mph everyday, no abnormal vibrations here...
I think I tried to put them on once, but I think my lugs aren't long enough to allow them to be on when I have my SSR's on.

hub rings go INSDE of the back of the wheels, they don't change the offset
