Wheel and Tire Size - Need Help
I have a 2001 GS300 that has 215-60-16 tires and wheels.
I have purchased 17" Lexus OEM wheels, 7 1/2 inches wide.
The calculator comes up for the replacement tires as, 235-50-17.
What have the rest of you done when going to a 17 inch wheel ??

I think 235/45/17 should still be fine though.

The 235-55-17 you mention, is 3.76% difference.
The 235-50-17 is 0.39% difference.
Thanks all for your replies. I'm trying to get a consensus before making a choice.

They are both close enough to eachother that you can just take your pic. The 3GS spec has less contact patch but gives more sidewall. Pick your poison.
Thanks for your suggestion.
I think I'm going with 225-50-17, Bridgestone Turanza LSV. They have a good rating at The Tire Rack.
