Recommend tires for 03 GS 300
What model & brand of tire do you recommend for an '03 GS300 ??? The car is completely stock, no mods, factory rims....factory everything. I'm looking for a tire that will help in performance but give a comfortable quiet ride.
Just found & joined this BB 1 hour ago and this stuff is simply amazing. I imagine if anyone can answer the tire question y'all certainly can. I have a pretty good idea how & where I'll be spending my money....mods
Thanks in advance to everyone.

Might mess with the speedometer? If you stay with 215/60/16 I would go with the all season PIiots.

Im in southern calif so we don't get snow and rain is pretty rare (maybe 20-30 days for the year) 95% of the driving will be in warm dry weather.
I would like to keep the original size only because I like to keep the car within its specs so if I can get a good performance tire in the original size (215/60/16) that would be great. Currently I have the stock DUNLOPs it came with.
ChuckB has a good point if that goodyear came stock with the GS 430 ( 225/55/16 ) then I assume it would work on my GS300. What I really don't like is going with a low profile tire that will roughen (is that a word? lol) my ride and increase the space between tire and fender -- I don't want to have to lower the car to kill any space created by a different size tire.
Is there a huge size difference between the stock 215/60/16 and the 225/55/16?? Im assuming the 215 vs 225 means the 225 is a wider tire and the 60 vs 55 means the "55" is a lower profile tire --- correct me if Im wrong. Im also afraid of a different size tire rubbing on something inside the fender well when the wheel is cranked to one side or another.
Thanks for the help. Excuse the rookie questions, Im sure you guys know this stuff inside out & backwards but Im just looking to get the best performance for the $$$.

I've been extremely happy running 225/55/16 tires on my GS300. It's been years ago now that I switched from the stock tires to this size, but my recollection was that the difference was significant (better!).
FYI, my last two sets have been Mich Pilot Sport A/S's and I'm tempted to try the less expensive and possibly longer wearing Perelli Pzero Nero's to try next time that I need new tires.
Good luck!

Initially, when I had eeeeverything stock with the 215/60/16, handling was HORRIBLE
I'm not a speed demon or corner like a mad man b/c I also drive around with older parents.
I switched over 225/55/16 and handling was better already
The car is slightly lower, so braking and turning was improved.
Another cheap replacements that you can do is to replace the front and rear sway bar bushings with the Daizen bushings for only $30.
So, no rubbings at all, handling will be improved
I have no tire preference, but make sure to rotate every 3k miles

Go with a 225/55/16.That size will match perfectly with your stock rim.I ran the Pirelli Pzero Nero in a 245/40/18 with good results on my 2000.Rubbing will not be a problem.
225 is the width of the tire in millimeters from sidewall to sidewall.55 is 55% of that width. So a 215/60/16 tires sidewall would equal 60% of 215 millimeters, roughly the same overall diameter.
