Will 225-45-17's fit on the stock 7" rims

Question

I read a post that stated the 225's will fit and work fine on the 7" IS rims:eek: Is that true or mus I stick with the 215 width???

I'm pretty sure that a 225 will fit on a 7" rim but understand that the benefit of a wider footprint are usually outweighed by a decrease in response. Think about this: if you normally wear narrow tennis shoes but switch to wide shoes for a larger footprint you probably will be upset to feel your feet slam into the insides of the shoe as you cut to the left and right. The new lower profile tires cut down on this "slop" but it is a factor.
