Question on bent wheel repair
According to Transwheel when they fix the bend anything less than a .030 is considered a good fix...
Anyone know anything about this?
Wheels feel better but still some vibration... according to the tech it is the tires but they are brand new from TireRack??? The tires have no visible defects.
Is this just normal after wheel bends have been repaired?

Brandon the tech talked more about inconsistencies in the weight and hard spots in the tire.
According to their Hunter 9700 one wheel is at .021 and the other is at .029 after repairing the bends sans tires.
After attempting multiple tire turns (indexing the tire to the wheel I guess) the best they could get was a 33 on my passenger side. The Tech then explained that it was due to the tire not the wheel.
Thoughts? I am headed back there tomorrow morning for them to try again on the Hunter.

The individual tire manufacturers have not set road force limits based on the Hunter GSP9700. They have found that too many tire shops doesn't use all of the machine's capabilities to diagnose and solve ride problems.
Hunter suggests 26 pounds of force variation for passenger tires and 39 pounds for light truck tires as measured by their GSP9700 balancer.
This assumes "round" wheels that have been match mounted by aligning the marked high/heavy spot of the tire with the measured low/light spot of the wheel (not the valve stem).

Well Brandon, I am headed back there in the morning and I will print out your explination to make sure they are doing it properly. If they explain that the 33 is the best they can get and I continue to feel vibration out of just that one wheel/tire can we try another tire.
Others have had this happen to my knowledge and been able to do just that.
Can you recommend another tire shop you guys use in the Brandon/Valrico area of Florida that has the RoadForce in case it is the shops problem with understanding how to use the machine... even though I doubt that is the case.

what i have found out is that with the lexus gs , is amd ls lines any road force of 20or over typically will give you a signal tire and/or wheel assembly has excessive runout and vibrations and or shimmyis emminent
i know from personal exp that anytime i get a road force over 20 i always have problems in fact it just happened to me last wed when i had my new toyo t1r mounted and pass side tire runout was excessive and road force was at 30lbs so at speeds between 55 and 70 no real shimmy but had constant vibration , had a replacement tire mounted yesterday tire was perfect ran straight , no excessive runout and roadforced at 14lbs so now vibration free at any speeds and no shimmy at all

Good news, just returned from Transwheel...
The tech was able to get the passenger tire to Roadforce at 11lbs... he questioned the machine and said maybe it was overheated or something the day before...
Anyway, he doublechecked all 4 and arrived at 7lbs and 9lbs for the rears and 12lbs and 11lbs for the fronts.
Feels 150% better now without a doubt!!!
Now I just have to get used to driving on heavy wider wheels...
Definately feels different than the L-Tuned 17's, now I have to decide if the feel is worth the look and handling... since I tend to be a more straight line speed kind of guy... of course the rear width will come in handy if I ever get the chance to go FI.

those 18s slowed you down a bit didn't they. I noticed it going from my light 16s to 18s too

My wife laughed at me because after all the trouble of getting these right, now I don't know if I like them better than my 17's... No doubt these look 100% better on the car though... at least with the fat setup... (new pictures after I wash the car forthcoming with new clear bumper markers)
I think if I make it to the track I am going to have to slap the 17's back on...
