offset + tires questions.
lads, I need help with this topic, I'm ordering spacers for my Volvo soon.
problem: I need to know which spacers to order so I'll still be able to slam my car and not to rub when driving lightly.
material: stock Volvo wheels are 16x6.5 with 25mm offset, I have 225/50/16 tires on it (yea I know, too wide for the rims), and I can lower it fairly low with the coilover, but the perch comes awfully close to the tire when I want it real low, like about 1cm or so of space. the tires rub the inner fenders all the away around when at lowest setting and driven hard.
I bought new wheels, 18x8 with 38mm offset, the tires are also 225, but 225/35/18, so the overal diameter is tad bit smaller, but I don't know which spacer to order, I have either 15,20,25mm, 25mm is out of question cause the wheels will stick out and rub the fender like no tomorrow, so I'm left with 15 and 20mm spacers, now which one should I use so I can still 1) lower the car proper when goes to shows, 2) without rubbing to death when I'm driving the car at low setting, I'll roll the rear fender soon anyways, but I just want to make sure, cause I need them quick time. I do have custom valved Koni Yellows, but I don't want to set 'em at stiffest setting and watch my interior fall apart.
thanks.
