Default Tires on 2001 GS 430

Hi

I have a little delema with tires on 2001 GS 430. OEM tires were replaced with Conti Extreme Contacts 225/55/16 and the car pulls to the left i have tried rebalanced tires 6 times and 3 alignments later in the past year (yes i am a great customer to a lexus dealer). After reading reviews of the tires on Tirerack this is known issue with conties. I am going to be throwing away these tires. I live in NY so i am looking for all season high preformance tire. I would like to find out if anyone here has any recomendations.

Some of the tires i am considering are.

pirelli pzero Nero M&S

toyo's were recomended by STS stores
Toyo Proxes 4

Toyo TPS

Kumho ECSTA ASX

BFGoodrich Traction T/A V

Yokohama Avid V4S

Anyone has any recomendations and or sugestions please let me know.

thank you

If you don't mind spending a couple of extra bucks, get the mich pilot sport all season. I run them as my winter setup. Only down side is that they are so-so in snow on a gs. The gs will handle much better with snow tires. Putting snow aside, the mich are a great handling tire and not to loud. As for toyo proxes 4, I have them on the es300 and they are very quiet and offer good handling and ride. Much better than the bridgestone re950's that were on there before. Can't comment on how well they handle in snow --- just got them about six weeks ago. Both the mich and toyo 's do not exhibit tramlining or pulling. They have good on center feel to them even on less than perfect roads

my 430 is on stock 16s with these Goodyear Eagle GS-D3s and it runs straight as an arrow. but I see you need all seasons, I have been hearing good things about P-Zeros. those will be my next new tires.

Default Kumho

I've got the ASX's after having Sumi's HTR+...

I think they're a great tire for the $$$ and tough to beat for an all season performer - period.

400 Tread Wear, 30,000 mile tread wear WARRANTY, Z rated, quiet and $98 a pop for 245/45/17. No problems on the balance - smooth as glass.

Tire Rack ran a comparo with these against the P-Zero Nero and I think the Conti Extreme. They were a shade behind the Nero but for the price it's a real value.

Good luck,
Eric

I had the same problem on my 98GS before I started using Bridgestone Turanza Z Rated Tires. I have used several sets of these tires and they are the best set of tires I ever used on my 16 inch wheels. I was getting 45-55K out of each set which I thought was very good tire life.

Also don't rule out the possibility that it might be your WHEEL.

Here's a test you can do. Take your spare and change it with one of your front wheels. Test it and see of you have the same pull to the left. Then move it to the other side and try again.

Default weel

All my weels have been telsted by lexus dealer (ive brought the car to them about 7 times with the same problem and they stated all rims are straight.

I appreciate your advice about bridgestone turanza's but i heard they are really bad in a snow, what has been your experience with it ?

Cool

Falken Ziex ZE-512 is a fantastic choice, the Toyo's & I would also give these tires some serious consideration.

Default Toyo

All

I have installed Toyo's Proxies 4 and the car rides incredible, they have 45 days or 500 miles trial.

The Conti's you have are 'directional' tires...most likely, that can be the cause of your problem after some wear.
