Default ES300 brake calipers "sticking"

Determined that I have a "sticky" front caliper which is prematurely wearing out my passenger side pads and subsequently warping my front rotor...

Question.... Are the 94 es300 and 92sc300 front calipers the same??

I know that "sticky" calipers on the SC3 are somewhat common... I have access to an sc300 caliper amd wondered if I could use an sc3 caliper on my es3??

Any help or advice would be appreciated

I had the same problem on my ES... There was brake dust everywhere, the rotor was all crapped out too, and to make matters worse, the dealer wanted $400 per caliper! LOL! I'm not sure if the SC caliper will fit, but it wouldn't hurt to try. If not, I suggest try pming "aliga". I got used calipers from him for only $100. Good luck man.

I can't answer the part about SC calipers fitting on an ES, but I also had the same experience with my '01. The rear ones seized up when I brought my car in for the 90K, and since the dealership took notice of the calipers at that time (with a loaner to drive and all), I had no choice but to let them use new calipers, rotors and pads and do the work. I think I paid around $1,370 for the rear brake job from the dealership

WOW Doug that ripped u a new one huh...no pun intended bro..

Update... can find calipers for 100 - 150 new off ebay..and my mechanic can do the work for 180
the calipers seem to be single piston and the sc300 are dual so they are NOT compatible...

I never use the dealer for brake work as they seem to charge 3x what the job is worth...

Advice.... find a good local mechanic who will let u bring your OWN parts... saves a ton and u can mod better...

Tuesday brake job cost...-----
Mentioned in the es3 thread that I had rotors turned ($30), pads installed on both fronts for ($50)... Out the door for ($85) but I brought my own pads ($25)..
No Lexus dealer here baby...lol
