Most torque specs for Lex cars are 76 foot-pounds. I always go a little higher than that because if use a torque wrench at 76 ft-lbs, it feels too loose and I can always tighten it further by hand, so I'm more comfortable that the lugs aren't going to come loose. I'll bet I'm at about 90, by hand.

Just for kicks I called Lexus as well. 85ft/lbs. So 90 ft/lbs seems about right to me. Oh and for those that take their cars to mechanics, even lexus, what do you think your wheels are torqued to. I will tell you about 120ft/lbs. Trust me, they do not take a torque wrench to your wheels. Don't worry going to 90ft/lbs.

90 ft/lbs is too much... 120 is WAY too much. Why would they need to be that tight?
All this will do is help to distort the rotors.
My Lexus book says 76 ft/lbs. I have always used this specification on my stock and aftermarket wheels and it works great.
In fact, my MR2 and my brother's AE86 Corolla Toyota "big books" say 76 ft/lbs.- pretty standard for Lexus/Toyota.
I love the internet.... we have all the "experts" running 90 ft/lbs. of torque on their lug nuts
and 45 psi of air in the tires. But what do I know... I just do this for a living.
Off my rant now...

Yea, not only mechanics. Tire shops. I had that happen to me twice. Both times I tried to take off the lugs on the spot, broke the key, and had them remove it and buy a new set of locks. I don't trust mechanics at all. But you know sometimes you just don't feel like it and just take it to the shop. I always ask if my wheels have been removed and check that I can take off the keyed lug on the spot. I don't want any accidents while traveling.
