Default IS 17's vs. GS 17's - Big Difference or No?

I'd really like a set of the chrome GS rims 17" on my SC 300. I have some aftermarket rims on my car now with 8" wide tires and thats why I want to go with the 8" GS rims, however the IS rims look just as good and are about half-price. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the 7" IS rim (its 7" right, or 7.5"? wide)? ANyways I was wondering if that makes a big difference in traction at all that they noticed. With my tires I can take interstate ramps at 55-60 if I really wanted to and thats about the limit, but I love having that extra traction I know is there. However the IS tire is cheaper and with smaller tires its easier to drift....

Anyways I was wondering if anybody had any opinions or suggestions either way, just looking for some comments. If I find a set of reasonably priced GS rims I'll definately go with them instead of the IS but so far I haven't.

big difference imho. the gs wheels are 8 and the is wheels are 7 i believe. both of 50 offset so the is3 wheels are a lot more inset than the gs wheels. it won't look good on your car at all, and you can't get wider tires for it
