Volk GT-C Face I & BBK Clearance
Hey guys,
Not a Lexus owner (I'm a Maxima owner) and I'm interested in the GT-C's (19x8.5 +38-40 offset). Anyways, I haven't come across any Maximas with these wheels and since the GS series Lexus owners share very similiar wheel dimensions if you could lend some answers that'd be great.
Are the GS guys running the GT-C's (Face I) (+38-40 offset range) using spacers on the front to clear BBK? How about the rear? Even better if you guys could do a few measurements for me. Here are the directions to measure:
---
Measure 5 1/4" out from the center of the wheel to one of your spokes. Now measure the distance from the surface of your stock rotors. If you have at least 2 1/2" of clearance between the rotor and the back of the spoke, then you should be fine with the kit.
---
I'm getting front and rear BBKs this summer but plan on buying the wheels first. My Mille Miglias are alright but are too heavy and I'm looking for something more upscale.
Thanks to all who can help!

My friend has a set of GTC's with 38 offset on his first gen SC. There were some rubbing with the spoke on his BBK but that problem was quickly solved with a 5mm spacer. Now I know for a fact that 38MM still comes in high disc or medium disc format. Since my friend brought his rims used, he had no way of determining whether or not his disc was high or med. I would make sure what your buying is high disc and not medium.

What's the difference between high disc and medium disc?
I'm hoping I can run my preferred offsets (+38-40) spacerless as anything lower will stick out too far from the fender and anything higher will rub more on the inside fender well.

You can tell if the Volk rim is high disk or medium disk by its offset.
Here is a size chart for the GT-C.

For Volks, if its in the Offset A category, then its High disk and it will clear everything. If its in Offset B category, it will clear some BBK kits.
