I doubt it . The diameter on 255/45 would be too big (27"). This is bigger than 20s on the typical tire setup (245/35). I would anticipate some rubbing.

On top of that, I would be reluctant to run 255s on a x8 rim. I've seen it done. I personally would not do it. Just IMHO.

neo completely nailed it. if anything the overall diameter is a bigger problem i think, that's not off, that's WAY off. and doesn't look like that's aggressive drop? you might rub a bit but not too bad i guess

i understand the width part being too big for the front but the side wall difference is only an inch? and withthe conservative drop i would still have about a finger gap in the front so im not sure rubbing would be a problem... plus tires are cheaper!

At an inch drop, it is questionable. You may or may not get away with the fender rub and you may or may not rub the top of the wheel well liner on dips but you will rub when you turn, especially full lock, because of the diameter and the 255. I know someone running 245/45 on 18s with no drop (and I can't convince him otherwise. ) and he rubs when the wheels are turned. This is mostly because of the diameter.

I have not seen anyone post that they are actually running this setup so I can only draw from the numbers and the experiences from CL members and myself. Therefore it is not a 100% guarantee that it will rub. You can always be the pioneer and try it and let us know.

Personally, with the cost of tires, the 27" diameter, and running 255s on x8, I would not risk it. That's just me though.

BTW, I am not sure if an inch drop will give you 1 finger gap unless you have really fat fingers. Typically, a 1" drop is relatively conservative. Although a 1 finder gap is not overly aggressive, I would not call it conservative either. If the gap is trully 1 finger, I would have to say you will rub on the wheel well liner when you hit dips.

yeah i think the sidewall is tall and might create too much flex when you are turning? and i think 255 is really wide for the width of the rim too
